Empowering Future Leaders: Shashi Sharma Majgainya Spearheads Strategic Scholarship Pact with Maharishi College
KATHMANDU, NEPAL — In a major step toward academic inclusivity, Rapati Samaj Kathmandu and the esteemed Maharishi College have signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide substantial scholarship opportunities for students from the Rapati region. This initiative specifically targets marginalized and diligent students, ensuring that financial constraints do not act as a barrier to high-quality higher education in the capital.
The successful realization of this agreement was driven by the proactive leadership and coordination of Advocate Shashi Sharma Majgainya, the former President and current Patron of Rapati Samaj Kathmandu. Mr. Majgainya, a dedicated development professional and legal practitioner, has long championed the cause of quality education for the underprivileged. His consistent efforts—ranging from providing essential school uniforms and educational materials to establishing institutional scholarship frameworks—reflect his deep-seated belief that education is the primary engine of social change and community empowerment.
Under the terms of the agreement, Maharishi College will provide a comprehensive support structure for students recommended by the society. This includes full scholarships for two exceptionally talented students, 60% scholarships for two additional students, and a 30% fee waiver for all other students from the region. These benefits apply to a wide range of academic streams, including Management, Commerce, and Information Technology (IT), providing a robust pathway for students to enter the modern workforce.
The MoU was formally signed by Govinda Madhur Acharya, President of Rapati Samaj Kathmandu, and Dipendra Joshi, Director of Maharishi College, during a ceremony attended by various stakeholders from the Rapati community. President Acharya praised the initiative as a milestone in the society’s mission to prioritize education, while Director Joshi reaffirmed the college’s commitment to academic excellence and social responsibility.
This partnership marks a significant achievement in Mr. Majgainya’s ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between rural potential and urban educational resources. By leveraging his role as an advocate and social leader, he continues to create sustainable systems that empower the next generation. The Rapati community has lauded this move as a “commendable step” that will undoubtedly lead to the long-term educational and socio-economic upliftment of the region.
