Patron Shashi Sharma Majgainya Spearheads Major Scholarship Pact for Rapati Students

KATHMANDU, NEPAL — In a landmark achievement for regional academic development, Rapati Samaj Kathmandu has entered into a formal scholarship agreement with the prestigious South Western State College (SWSC). This transformative partnership, designed to provide high-quality education to marginalized and underprivileged students, was spearheaded and coordinated by the society’s Patron, Mr. Shashi Sharma Majgainya.

Since the inception of Rapati Samaj Kathmandu in 2063 B.S., Mr. Majgainya has remained a consistently active and dedicated force in the organization’s growth. His journey—serving as Member, Secretary, General Secretary, and twice as President—has been defined by a hands-on commitment to community empowerment. Now serving as Patron, his proactive leadership remains the driving force behind the society’s most impactful initiatives, ensuring that socio-economic barriers do not hinder the dreams of talented students from the Rapati region.

Under Mr. Majgainya’s guidance, the society has established a legacy of rigorous advocacy for educational rights. His strategic coordination for this project ensures that students recommended by Rapati Samaj gain access to South Western State College, a pioneer and highly credible institution in Kathmandu. The college, led by Director Ganesh Mahara, has become a beacon of excellence, making it the ideal partner for this humanitarian mission.

The scholarship framework is comprehensive, covering the Plus Two (+2) level with full scholarships in Science, Management, Law, and Humanities. For higher education, the college will offer 60% partial scholarships for three students in each undergraduate program—including BBM, BCA, BSW, and BBS—as well as graduate programs such as MBA, MBS, and MA in English. Furthermore, a 30% scholarship will be available to all students recommended by the society.

Current President Govinda Madhur Acharya noted that while the society remains a leader in music and literature, education is a top priority. Through the tireless efforts of Shashi Sharma Majgainya, Rapati Samaj Kathmandu continues to serve as a vital bridge, connecting marginalized communities with the elite educational resources of the capital.
